Facilities Emergency

Immediate Repair of Items
Call 911 for life-threatening emergencies

Examples: Flooding and storm damage, leaking roof, broken window, no heating/cooling

Request Process: Call Fix-it @ 302-831-1141 or UDPD @ 302-831-2222

Responsibility and Funding: FREAS or Auxiliary (Two Book)

Corrective Maintenance

Repair of Existing Facilities

Examples: Clogged Drain, the light outlet is not working, broken ceiling tile, uncomfortable temperature

Request Process: Submit a Request for Service via Webforms or call 302-831-1141

Responsibility and Funding: FREAS Or Auxiliary (Two Book)

Request for Service RFS

Minor changes or additions to existing facilities
Work is funded by requestor department

Examples: Renovate lab, offices, etc.; install new equipment; add an electrical outlet, lights, etc.; mover request; events support

Request Process: Submit a Request for Service via Webforms. Required approval by the Dean, Business Officer, etc., before work can proceed.

Responsibility and Funding: Requestor

Capital Improvements

Construction of new buildings or substantial changes/renovations to existing buildings

Examples: Building X, Harker ISE Lab, Warner Hall renovation

Request Process: Submit a Request for Service via Webforms

Responsibility and Funding: Requestor

Deferred Maintenance

Deferred capital replacement of facilities assets that have exceeded their life expectancy

Examples: Replace HVAC System Replace Chiller Replace roof

Request Process: Tracked and prioritized by FREAS; funding coordinated with Finance

Responsibility and Funding:FREAS; University & State Deferred maintenance Funds
