Recently, Maintenance & Operations Manager, Dennis Derr, was invited to be a guest speaker for the Siegfried Youth Leadership Program Economics Summer Camp. Former SSGT Derr shared his experiences serving in the United States Marine Corps with the high school students in attendance at Alfred Lerner Hall and spoke on the value of cultivating a mindset focused on leadership. Guided tours of Lewes Campus are now available, free of charge. Summer tours take place every Wednesday from July 5 through Sept. 6. Tours outside of the regular touring schedule may be requested. Reservations must be made at least two days in advance, and can be made by visiting UD’s Lewes Campus Tour website or by calling 302-645-4234.
The southbound lane and the adjacent sidewalk of S College Ave between E Delaware Ave and Amstel Ave will be closed beginning Mon 06/12 due to planned storm sewer work by the City of Newark. The north lane will remain open to vehicular traffic.
Mae Jemison is this year’s Commencement speaker on Saturday, May 27. Jemison was the first African American woman in space and served six years as a NASA astronaut.
